Recently, there has been a visible uptick in post-apocalyptic Earth on TV and the silver screen. This got me thinking. What would be worse: An Alien Invasion or a Zombie Outbreak? Now I know immediately everyone wants to go alien. I get it. They are supreme beings who have the element of surprise on their side. But as the Revolutionary War taught us, it is not easy to invade a country, nonetheless a planet.
With aliens we have home field advantage, and with Will Smith and Arnold on our side, I think we could take down an army of aliens from planet Suckmyballs – no problem. Zombies, though, don’t receive the apocalyptic respect they deserve. Think about it. Each bite not only creates another zombie, but it also drops one human. The multiplier effect could be insurmountable. I agree that zombies are slow, which gives us an advantage, but they swarm and don’t feel pain.
Also, no movie has mentioned this, to my recollection. If there was an outbreak how does it spread originally? Can mosquitoes carry the virus? What about rats? I live in Florida and if red ants could carry it, the Sunshine State would be doomed because I would rather become a zombie than have to always wear closed-toe shoes, period. I like my flip flops, dammit! So here is my question to you, the DOM Nation. What would be worse – an alien invasion or a zombie outbreak?
