Dan on the TV show Roseanne. He was very hardworking and really cared about his family.

I think that Bill Cosby is the best TV dad! HANDS down. He was funny, smart and loving! Thanks!

I think that Rick from the Walking Dead is the best TV dad. He really tries his best to be a good father even when they live in constant danger.

  • Jessica Vaughan Gengler: June 4, 2013 at 11:07 am

I thought Mike Brady was the best tv dad because he did such a good job managing 6 kids!

    Danny tanner,
I mean talk about the definition of “good clean fun” huh!!!! (Pun intended!!) I mean not many other men can ask and follow thru with living with two other men to raise three girls after their mom (who it was obvious he truly loved) died when the girls were little. He always handled things from a logical point and let mistakes be made where they needed.

I pick Bill Cosby as best tv dad. Because he handled every situation in a cool, calm manner. He was compassionate, loving, understanding, and he listened. Always.

  • Kim Kihega: June 4, 2013 at 3:57 pm

Stan from American Dad. He represents many fathers in America, often completely clueless! He’s more of a real dad than many of the other shows!

Jonathon Kent (from TV’s Smallville). Talk about a strong Dad! He wasn’t perfect, showed (on several occasions) that as a parent you can be frustrated, loose your cool, but still gain your child’s respect as well as trust by being honest and owning up to your mistakes. He truly supported Clark (a unique and gifted child) by growing with him and his gifts instead of giving up on him as a lot of people would have. He shared his feelings, his knowledge, and his love with his son, while giving unselfishly of his life to keep his secret. From heartfelt conversations about life and its many struggles, to taking drastic measures at times to bring his son home, Jonathon Kent truly was an American Hero of a Dad!

If i had to choose who the best dad would be, I would not be able to choose one if the chooses from above. I would have to say that my fiance would beat out those dads. I would have to say that he is absolutely wonderful with our soon to be 4 year old daughter. I know that she looks up to him and that he is what a dad should be! He is amazing and words can never truly describe the type of dad he honestly is. I could not ask for anyone better!!

The best dad on tv would have to be Ward Cleaver. He knew when they needed a stern voice and he was alway there for them.

  • miranda: June 5, 2013 at 4:30 pm

I think the besttv dad ever was uncle dannyoff of fullhouse. Hee was so sweet with the twins and with the girls. Not to mention is smoking hot!!!

Red Forman (That 70′s Show) has my vote, he’s hilarious and sarcastic. My kinda guy!

  • David: June 6, 2013 at 1:41 pm

My favorite TV dad is Hank Hill. He is self-reliant, ashamed to have to hire someone to fix something around the house. He has a no-nonsense attitude and is against the more feminine things that today’s young people tend to be into. “That boy ain’t right”, indeed.

  • Tim Stephens: June 6, 2013 at 6:04 pm

Homer Simpson is by far the best dad of all time

  • Laurie Emerson: June 6, 2013 at 11:00 pm

If I had to choose the best dad it would Sarek, Spock’s father from Star Trek. The man had all the Vulcan logical thinking of Spock but also had that extra dimension of feelings and compassion of a human which Spock never had. The scenes of the two together was always so much fun.

  • Samii Meyer: June 6, 2013 at 11:21 pm

    The dad from Modern Family

  • Karrie Millheim: June 6, 2013 at 11:28 pm

Clark from European Vacation..he is so funny and cute

  • claudia moore: June 6, 2013 at 11:56 pm

  • Richard Hicks: June 7, 2013 at 1:18 pm

Mike Brady of the Brady Buunch show. He always new how to handle those problems with all those kids and was so funny too.

  • jules m.: June 7, 2013 at 2:24 pm

    burt hummel on glee

  • susan smoaks: June 7, 2013 at 8:36 pm

The best TV dad is dexter, he really loves harrison and takes good care of him.

  • Blake Kaplan: June 11, 2013 at 2:40 pm

Howard Cunningham, a.k.a. “Mr. C” on “Happy Days,” was everything a father should be. He was loving, caring generous and friendly. And he played a fatherly role for other in his son’s group.

  • Michael Clarke: June 14, 2013 at 9:31 am

Carl veljohnson, a.k.a. ” Carl Winslow” on ”Family Matter”,he knew how to
discipline children & I like to see the new generation looking up to a good
hero in the society. He was a cop,so that he may protect his family and I
think that’s why the producers, directors name the show that, because
family is what that really matters. That is who I think is the best television
    father there is.
