Southern Tier Imperial Crème Brulee Stout
Posing as one of her favorite PMS snacks and boasting nearly 10% ABV, the Southern Tier Imperial Crème Brulee Stout is liquid rophenol. While further description is clearly unnecessary, we shall continue. With mild carbonation and a smooth mouth feel, this beer is extremely easy to drink, despite its high ABV. Toffee and butterscotch notes are very prominent in the nose of this beer. The taste starts with a huge rush of vanilla flavors, shortly followed by caramelized sugar. There is little to no hop presence in this brew, as is expected for stouts that tend to be more malt-centric.
Southern Tier has captured the essence of a crème brulee in this imperial stout. Knowing that Left Hand’s Milk Stout is one of the favorites of the DOM founding fathers, this takes the style to another level. Using lactose to increase sweetness and body, this beer is very drinkable even for novice beer drinker standards, making it a welcome addition to any prom night. Generally we couldn’t imagine ourselves sitting down and drinking a dozen of these, as we would with any other beer, however we would strongly recommend this one whenever in the presence of unsuspecting female prey. While it may taste like something an emo fanboy pours down his gullet on every Starbuck’s patio across the nation, it packs considerably more punch and you should feel no shame in ordering this righteous brew….even with the guys.
