Rush to Release New Album “Clockwork Angels”
The Gods of Prod Rock have spoken. They have sent a message down to us mere mortals that they are going to record another album. That’s right, RUSH is set to release a new album called “Clockwork Angels.” This will be their 20th album overall and it is set to release on June 12th ,of course followed by a tour. To be honest I have been needing a good old school prod rock album for a while. The question I have is if Rush’s new album has any mainstream success, will they finally be in the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame? I know it’s shocking to those of you that don’t know that Rush currently is not in there… Bullhockey!
Track 1. Cavern

After extensive discussion with Viper, a guy I work with who is a super Rush fan (think Egon from Ghost Busters), he made it clear that this album is based upon a novel-like approach. It’s the brainchild born of the collaboration between science fiction writer Kevin Anderson and drumming legend Neil Peart.
Track 2. BU2B

The thing that makes Rush great is the band’s multi-level appeal. Some of us are just like Viper – he knows every album, the reason they made the album, and all the obscure facts about of the band. Most of us are casual – we like good music, from a unique sounding band, who has a ton of talent. Then the more mainstream music guys can rock Rush – Tom Sawyer anybody? When it comes down to it, anybody could jam out at a Rush concert and enjoy themselves.
Track 9. Headlong Flight

I’m finding that this type of uniquely talented, yet blatantly original sound, is something that has been missing in music for awhile. Maybe, truly, the time where record labels take risks, bands are concerned with their music – not their new clothing line at JC Penney – and nobody could care about a music video budget, are dead. I will sorely miss the future potential for music if that’s the case. Let’s hope “Clockwork Angels” will reignite the Rock ‘n Roll brush fire and spread it across the pop music landscape.

This article couldnt be more true. Ive been a fan since 1977, I have seen Rush in concert 37 times, will be attending my 38th on Saturday, September 15th at the United Center (Chicago). They have the most distinctive sound that seems to never get old. There lyrics are very true. I love there late 70′s and early 80′s music, but there new music becomes addictive as soon as it is heard. I cant wait to rush to the store in early June to get the new CD “Clock Work Angels”. I hope this isnt the last time I see my favorite Trio band from Toronto. They simply ROCK.
Well Brian, I could not agree more. There’s no doubt that they truly have a sound that is distinctly unique. Now we just need to get the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame to pull their heads out of their hind ends and induct them already!
