three outlaw Cowboys were killed. The gunfight lasted on 30 seconds, but from that time on, Earp carried the reputation of one of the Old West’s toughest and deadliest gunman.

At various times he was also a farmer, shop keeper, miner, boxing referee, and “teamster”. No, he did not drive a truck, of course, although since he did live until 1929, there were trucks around during his later years.  The original teamsters drove wagons pulled by oxen, mules or horses, while in the process of driving draft animals such as cattle.

Many actors have played the roll of Wyatt Earp, including Randolph Scott, Guy Madison, Henry Fonda, Joel McCrea, Burt Lancaster, James Garner, Jimmy Stewart, Hugh O’Brian, Kevin Costner, and Kurt Russell. Wyatt Earp’s character has forever influenced the style of the Old West law enforcement.
