Football Picks

For this week’s Mandependence Football Picks, we have two very interesting situations. On one hand, the college season is winding down and we are closing in on the conference title games. On the other hand, the NFL is now in full swing. The great teams we know are great and the playoff hunt plot is now thickening. The picks:

Oregon vs Stanford: I really want to call an upset for this but have since allowed cooler heads to prevail. Oregon’s offense is electric and will continue to be good in this game. I think this will be a lot closer than expected. Oregon has yet to get a full fledged kick-in-the-teeth this season and Stanford is going to try to do just that. Watch for Barner to have a big day.

Ravens vs Steelers: The Steel Nation is taking this one. I just don’t have faith that Joe Flacco can carry an offense. Look for Big Ben and the Steeler WR to have a big day. This is a big marker in the season and will have major playoff implications.

Bears vs. 49ers: I am losing faith in how good this 49er team really is. What we know: 49ers have a great RB in Gore, great Defense, and that’s about it. I know that D and running game can win a lot of games but not when you are running with a potential backup QB against the BEST D in the league period. The Bears bounce back after a tough loss last week to Houston.

Ben is out after getting pounded in the KC game. Lefwich is starting. I’d still call for the Steelers, but its a harder call without Big Ben
